Installation

MAMM Collection

The installation transports the viewer from our reality into a digital environment. When a person enters the project space, a special algorithm recognises their figure, transforms it into a dynamic mass of pixels and frames their face with a random IP address. Thereby having lost all traces of individuality and dissolved into hundreds of copies of themselves, viewers find themselves in a digital world.

Deep within this space lies a data centre – the heart of the digital environment. The path to it leads through a corridor intersected by portals. These portals are coloured green and reflect one another, creating an endless recursion that evokes both the monochrome screens of early computers and the aesthetics of liminal spaces. Moving forward and approaching the data centre, a space of raw data, viewers lose not only their human, but also their digital identity; they are cleansed of all digital markers and interflow with pure information.
